The XD-1000 transforms the traditional point-to-point nature of one way transfer into a corporate service that can be utilized by enterprise users, other services, and applications for secure and trusted cross-domain communications across the enterprise. During the processing of files, there are three key services that protect target networks from undesirable content including:

The core product can be operated in either CGI or bulk mode. All core services are available using either mode of operation. Depending on the business application, bulk mode would be used for services that do not require human intervention. In bulk mode, the core features of the appliance allow the organization to control what type of information transfers across network boundaries. Additionally, these features are configurable, so the system administrator can configure the system according to organizational requirements, using the simple GUI administration tool. For applications that allow for human intervention, the CGI mode of operation provides this feature with the same three services as bulk mode, to protect target networks against potentially undesirable content. Parallel processing of all file checks allows the XD-1000 to maximize the throughput potential of the network connection. This results in a significant performance improvement from today’s one way transfer solutions that operate serially, processing a single file at a time for each check and transfer.
