XD-Solutions makes it easy for clients to utilize existing Unix virus scanning software. The XD-1000 may be configured to automatically update signature files, further ensuring protection of destination networks. Furthermore, agents may be set up to check on the last update of the signature files and if out of date, send a notification to the system administrator. Thresholds are configurable, so it’s up to the administrator to determine how frequently the signature files should be updated and at what point they should be alerted in the event of an out of date signature file.
