In an information rich world it is difficult to keep track of all the relevant data that may influence business or mission decisions, especially if the data resides on multiple disparate networks that have to be manually monitored by your staff. The XD-1000’s RSS feeds application allows system administrators to configure the appliance to automatically pass updates of relevant stories from a low-side network to a high-side network, providing a single location for users to read relevant information. From the list of predefined RSS feeds being passed through the XD-1000, users can establish more granular rules or filters to allow them to focus on information relevant to their needs.

Another option would be to allow users to select any RSS feed available on networks for which they have access. Users would subscribe to an RSS feed using a web-based subscription tool, allowing them maximum flexibility and control over the stories they’re interested in. Depending on the importance of the story, users can specify one of several alert mechanisms (e.g., instant message alert, email alert).
